Stability of stochastic nonlinear systems with semi-Markov switching

Switched systems integrate both continuous-time and discrete-time subsystems. In contrast to traditional deterministic switched systems and Markov jump systems, this talk focuses on stochastic nonlinear systems under semi-Markov switching. We begin by introducing the background and motivation of our research question, along with a brief overview of existing results in this area. We then provide the definitions and key properties of semi-Markov processes, followed by the formulation of semi-Markov switched stochastic systems. Our main contribution is presented next: a stability guarantee that removes the conventional strong requirement of uniformly bounded transition rates. Finally, we compare our results with several known findings on Markov switching systems to highlight the advantages and novelties of our approach.
